Since our inception in 1997, we have sought to identify promising, disruptive technologies, with a viable path to commercial success, in large, growing markets.
With modest capital backing and a keen eye for value, MDB co-founders Chris Marlett and Anthony DiGiandomenico have been instrumental in the formation, funding and development of several public companies which went on to achieve market capitalizations in excess of two hundred million dollars each and collectively over three billion dollars of public market value.
These early successes formed both the knowledge base and capital base for subsequent principal investments, and cemented our “rifle-shot” approach to selecting companies we wanted to invest in, raise capital for and partner with.
Our IP
In 2002, using leading patent consultants and third-party data, we began to develop our expertise in intellectual property (IP) analysis and valuation as a means of selecting companies we wanted to work with. These formative efforts led to the development in 2004 of our own proprietary patent database and analytics platform, PatentVest. Today, PatentVest is built from the bottom up with over 4 million patents and over 2 million patent applications covering over 4,000 public and private companies and is the most comprehensive resource of its kind in the world.
